Destructuring

JavaScript · Unit 10: More on functions

Destructuring means taking several values out of an array at once. const [a, b] = array gives the first element to a and the second to b: it goes by position.

It's like writing array[0] and array[1], but in a single line.

const top = ["Mia", "Leo", "Ann"];
const [gold, silver] = top;
console.log(gold, silver);

Prints

Mia Leo

The rest of the explanation is in the lesson, which is part of the full plan.

Exercises in this lesson

You do them in the app, which checks them on the spot and explains why.
